CAROL COMMONS is a substitute teacher. She also works at the Plastic Surgery Center in Palo Alto where she is a partner of George W. Commons, M.D.
She began her career in the food industry before she graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. As a Home Economist for Pennsylvania Electric Co., she taught cooking classes featuring electric ranges. Her high school teaching career began in Pennsylvania and after getting a M.S. degree at Drexel University, she went on to teach in the Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District in California and on Clark Air Force Base in the Philippine Islands.
Ms. Commons settled in the Los Altos area and is the mother of three young adults. She has always participated in local schools as a teacher, in the PTA, or as a parent volunteer. She is president of El Cajon, an organization helping at risk teens learn culinary skills in local restaurants. She hikes, golfs, and is a world traveler.
